- Description: The Bottle Palm is a tall, stately palm tree with a straight, slender trunk and a large, symmetrical crown of pinnate leaves. It is native to Cuba and other parts of the Caribbean, as well as southern Florida.
- Height: Mature Bottle Palms can reach heights of 50 feet or even taller in ideal conditions.
- Trunk: The trunk is smooth and gray, gradually thickening towards the base and it can reach diameters of 40 to 50 inches .
- Leaves: The leaves are pinnate (feather-like) and can grow up to 10 to 15 feet (3 to 4.5 meters) in length. Each leaf has numerous linear leaflets arranged in a V-shape along the central stem.
- Crown Spread: The crown of a mature Palm can have a spread of 15 to 25 feet (4.5 to 7.5 meters) or more.
- Growth Rate: Palms have a moderate to fast growth rate, especially when young and provided with adequate water and nutrients.
- Habitat and Growing Conditions: Bottle Palms prefer tropical and subtropical climates and thrive in full sun. They are adaptable to a variety of soil types but prefer well-draining soil. They are drought-tolerant once established but benefit from regular watering, especially during dry periods and are sensitive to frost and should be protected in cooler climates.
