At this elevated luxury apartment, the expansive view of Central Park is breathtaking but can feel overwhelming. DF&A's challenge was to introduce a sense of human scale into this glass-and-steel aerie, balancing the grandeur of the views with the intimacy of home.
To address this, DF&A designed a custom mill piece that incorporates backlighting, texture, and depth to soften the living room's striking vista. For the bedroom, DF&A clad the non-window walls in scalloped wood, creating a handcrafted warmth. The space is transformed with custom furnishings, including a supple red leather headboard with integrated nightstands, mirrors, and ceramic lamps, turning the glass-sided box into a cozy retreat.
