In 2009, after deciding to leave advertising, YC Chen, the founder and creative director at hoo, was determined to follow his creative instincts by starting an interior design firm. And his resolve paid off, with YC winning the Perspective 40Under40 Award in 2016, recognising his creativity and achievement as a young leader in the interior design field in Asia.

Having appeared on Elle, Home Journal and Modern Home, his eye for detail and a passion for creating unique spaces, YC Chen has carved out a niche in luxury residential designs. YC’s mission is to design one-of-a-kind HAUTE COUTURE homes, with each have a distinctive name like Maggie, Sara, Ching, Leah and more. From picture frames to towel hooks and light bulbs, he seeks to create distinct living spaces, knowing fully well that it is the little things that make all the difference.

He also has a sister brand, OOH, looking only at commercial interior design, but his interest remains home. His loyal clientele appreciates his bespoke style, whose houses are elevated to a work of art. YC Chen remains dedicated to elevating the art of interior design, crafting environments that not only reflect individual tastes but also inspire those who experience them.
